On April 23, 2005 Sikh Sangat News reported, "there is a nondescript, one-story building just east of downtown on Second Street that is the connection for some living in Northern Nevada to their homeland of India. It has no windows or pillars and only a small sign at the entrance bears the words 'Sikh Temple Reno.' The local Sikhs call the temple 'gurudwaara,' which means 'the door of God.' As the only place of worship for followers of Sikhism in Northern Nevada, the temple is also a place to meet fellow immigrants from India on a late Sunday morning."
