On February 5, 2006 the Daily Press reported, "More than 12 years ago, a small group of High Desert residents began their quest to build their own religious gathering place, a dream that came closer to realization Saturday at the Krishna Valley Temple's groundbreaking ceremony.

In the past two years, the hope for a place to worship locally became more realistic [with] funds being raised, property purchased and architectural plans drawn.

Just before 1 p.m. Saturday, Swami Satyaprakashananda Saraswati from India performed a blessing at the location making things official. Construction on the 8,500-square-foot temple is to begin in June... The High Desert is home to about 300 Indian families, according to Dr. Manmohan Nayyar, who originally purchased the property... The temple is expected to be complete by September 2007."
