On May 1, 2005 the Daily Excelsior reported, "Britain has sanctioned a grant of 35,400 pounds to the Hindu Council, UK, part of which would be used for its cultural projects for children.

Parliamentary under Secretary of State, Fiona Mactaggart, said the grant was for meeting the cost of the Hindu Council website and its pilot cultural projects for children, according to an official communication last night.

Founded in 1994, the Council works towards providing an effective voice on policy matters with the Government while enhancing mutual understanding among major faiths in the UK. It is invited to consult on Government policy from time to time."
