Should public holiday displays include some religious symbols, all religious symbols or no religious symbols?

That's the question that Golden's city council will tackle Thursday night.

For years, the city has strung up lights on several trees in the downtown area.

The city has yet to answer Brackman.

"The council was concerned that if you allow the menorah and another group comes along, at what point do you say, 'we're going to draw the line,'" said Jonathan Ashford, manager of communications for the city of Golden.

Ashford said the city attorney drafted a recommendation that the city only allow white or colored lights and secular decorations, like icicles or snowflakes, in its public displays on city owned property.
