French investigators are trying to trace a man of Palestinian origin living in Canada in connection with the bombing of a Paris synagogue in 1980.
Four people died and nine were hurt when a motorcycle bomb exploded outside the synagogue in central Paris.
The attack sparked outrage and French police never closed their inquiry.
Details reportedly provided by German security services have helped identify a 55-year-old man who had lived in the US and Canada as one of the suspects.
