Thirtytwo-year-old Surjeet Singh Gill is among the 10 new constables and the first Sikh who joined the Windsor Police force in a ceremony at the Ontario Court of Justice building last Thursday. Windsor is the fourth most diverse city in the country, and the induction of a Sikh will only reflect nicely. Gill arrived in Windsor just three years ago to join his wife, who is a Canadian citizen.

He was a police officer in India.
