On August 30, 2006 SikhNet news reported, "[Members of the] Sikh community in Ireland displayed their rich culture and religious galore at the Festival of World Cultures [in] Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. [This is a three day] festival with over 150 artists and groups from around the world. [The] Festival of World Cultures is Ireland's largest intercultural event, attracting & entertaining audiences over 200,000. The Festival, a Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council event, featured more than 160 events in 40 venues and showcase[d] artists from 50 countries over the three-day period. [The] Irish Sikh Council organized [a talk entitled,] 'Sikh Religion & Culture'... on Saturday, 26 August 2006... On Sunday, 27th August 2006, Bhangra and Gatka were the two main performances at Harbour Plaza."
