Red Santa hats, yellow flags and purple figurines combined to create a rainbow of diversity Wednesday, as more than 30 groups participated in the Festival of Faith.
The event, a celebration of spiritual diversity during Wonderful Wednesday, attracted student groups as well as organizations from around the Atlanta area who set up tables with information about their respective spiritualities representing everything from Myan astrology to Chabad.
Zoe Haugo, wife and business partner of Neil Shulman, associate professor in the School of Medicine, organized the event.
Haugo said that she and Shulman created the Festival of Faith to foster a sense of family, camaraderie and respect between different religions in a time when there is so much global religious conflict.
“The hope was that we can encourage different religious groups to acknowledge that each religion has its place in the world,” Haugo said.
Religious groups such as Emory Hillel and Unity Christ Center attended the festival as well as organizations such as Clowns that Care and Women for Peace.
