On June 1, 2005 Tricycle reported, "A long-disused Anglican chapel is being converted into a Buddhist temple in the English village of Knaphill. Knaphill is located in the borough of Woking, about 25 miles southwest of London. The group renovating the chapel is the Dhammakaya International Society of the United Kingdom (DISUK). The temple will be one of 16 Thai Buddhist temples in the UK serving a Thai community numbering more than 30,000, but it is hoped the temple will also attract non-Thai residents interested in the dharma and meditation."
