The Muslim Public Affairs Council today welcomed President Barack Obama's Eid message to Muslims worldwide, and extended its own wishes for a blessed Eid marked by faith, prosperity and joy.

During this month, over 1.3 billion Muslims worldwide have practiced restraint and generosity as a reflection of their commitment to God and in fulfillment of the commandment of fasting, one of the five pillars of Islam.

President Barack Obama issued a statement yesterday saying he and his wife, Michelle, congratulate Muslims in the U.S. and around on the world on a "blessed day:"

As Muslims in the United States and around the world complete the month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, Michelle and I would like to extend our personal greetings on this joyous occasion. Eid is a time to celebrate the completion of 30 days and nights of devotion.
