On December 1, 2004 The Telegraph reported, "A Dutch Muslim MP and writer, whose collaboration with the film-maker Theo Van Gogh led to his murder, said yesterday she was writing a follow-up script in defiance of extremists' death threats.

Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali has lived in hiding since Van Gogh was killed in Amsterdam on Nov 2.

Mohammed B, a Dutch–Moroccan, has been arrested for the murder. He is allegedly linked to a group of Muslim militants accused of planning the murder of Hirsi Ali and Geert Wildersand, the conservative independent MP. A letter left with Van Gogh's body said Hirsi Ali was next.

In an interview with NRC Handelsblad she said she was working on the second part of Submission, Van Gogh's film that accused Islam of promoting violence against women.

'Theo's murder will not make me abandon this project,' she said."
