A human rights complaint filed against a local Muslim leader is just the latest salvo in an ongoing dispute involving a northeast Islamic centre and the families of the three women who launched the complaint.

Qasira Shaheen, Robina Butt and Shugufta Iftikhar claim they were discriminated against by Syed Soharwardy at an open house in November at the Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Centre.

The three women said they were physically and verbally threatened, made to sit in the back of the hall and eventually forced to leave.
