It is reported that more than 250 bodies have been buried in Porayar, out of which 150 are Muslims. The remaining bodies were of Hindus and Christians. Over 500 people have lost their lives in Nagore alone and more than 2,000 people were rendered homeless. They were lodged at Nagore dargah and most of them are Hindus. They are being fed and taken care of by the dargah administration and by the volunteers of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), dargah sources said.
