On June 5, 2005 The Telegraph reported, "Air Force officials have taken steps to ensure airmen - particularly senior leaders - exercise freedom 'from' religion along with the more familiar freedom 'of' religion. The action flows from a faith flap at the Air Force Academy, where some cadets claim Christianity was emphasized over other religious beliefs or nonbeliefs. The directive, sent to senior leaders, commanders and supervisors, reportedly said, 'using your place at the podium as a platform for your personal beliefs can be perceived as misuse of office.' Robins officials say the directive merely re-emphasizes long-standing policy and will not impact the expression of faith."
