More than 120 high school students took a crash course in religion yesterday as part of the Festival of Faiths.
And while they learned about religious differences, they discovered similarities.
"There were a lot of common themes (such as) self realization and everything is connected," said Tej Azad, a Floyd Central (Ind.) High School student and member of a Council of Students at the Muhammad Ali Center, the program's host.
Tysheka Burks, a Central High School student and another Ali Center council member, recognized a Buddhist monk's description of karma -- how everyone's actions matter.
"What goes around comes around," she said.
