Sikh activists scored a major victory when prosecutors decided to drop charges against 47-year-old truck driver Sachdev Singh for wearing ‘Kirpan’ while entering the Connecticut State Superior Court to contest an alleged traffic violation.
The prosecutors took the decision after meeting with United Sikhs’ attorney Jaspreet Singh during which he explained the religious significance of kirpan.
