On May 19, 2004 the Jerusalem Post reported, "The Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC), the leading advocacy group for Canadian Jews, will adopt a new platform for combating anti-Semitism next month, when Ed Morgan replaces Keith Landy as CJC national president. 'One thing that we are really hoping to do is to reengage the political Left and labor unions since Jewish politics has been divorced from that side of the political spectrum,' says Morgan who will accede to the presidency on June 13. He explained that fewer and fewer Jewish advocacy groups have ties with Canada's Left, where the landscape is becoming dominated by anti-Israel groups. 'In Canada, we have made a lot of progress curbing anti-Semitism in the Right, but sometimes in the Left, the Israel-bashing is so harsh that it is clear they haven't been properly educated on the Middle East conflict,' he said."
