On January 17, 2004 the reported, "The Hindu Community and Cultural Center of Livermore is beginning its annual grant program, which serves individuals in the local community. The center focuses on individual donations to support nonprofit, human services agencies. Krishna Reddy, chairman of the Hindu Community Center, hopes that this year will be another successful one. Reddy anticipates that more than $15,000 will be given to local programs. Incorporated in 1977, the Shiva-Vishnu Temple offers a place for Hindus to pray, study religion and hold cultural programs. The human services aspect of the program allows individuals to make donations to actively support the needs of the elderly, abused women and youth. Deserving individuals seeking educational scholarships are encouraged to apply for grants, Reddy said."
