On April 20, 2004 Week TV reported, "A group of Bradley University students say they are offended by the use of religious symbols in a display on campus. They say it misrepresents the cultural and religious diversity on Bradley's campus. Students from Bradley University's Newman Center say they want to raise awareness about the number of abortions performed daily. They've put up 4000 crosses in the quad on campus. A group of pro-choice students say the display is offensive. Catherine Morrison of the group Voices for Choice: ''The cross is a symbol of Christianity. Bradley's not affiliated with a Christian religion. Many students at Bradley University are Jewish and of other faiths. It is offensive because it represents, it takes over a large part of our campus.'' Morrison says she does not object to the group's right to freedom of speech, but says symbols other than crosses could have been used."
