Indiana is becoming a popular destination for those interested in Buddhist philosophy. The Dalai Lama's visit to the state this week attracted people from all over the country.

Eyewitness News got a rare look inside the living quarters at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington. Four to five Buddhist monks live here all the time.

The Dalai Lama has a special room reserved for his visits to Indiana. Since it was founded in 1979 by the Dalai Lama's older brother Norbu, the center has become a hub for Buddhist study and interfaith dialogue.

"I guess pretty important and pretty famous now because His Holiness visit," said Arijia Rinpoche, Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, speaking in halting English.
