On March 13, 2004 The Arizona Republic reported, "Islam could be the most misunderstood religious tradition in the world. That is why a chapter of the Islamic Social Services Association is trying to reach 2,000 Arizona journalists, police officers and employees in the areas of health, welfare and education. Through the association's Anti-bias Project, members are offering programs about the details of the religion and emphasize educating people about common misperceptions - among them that Islam is a faith that preaches terrorism and subjugation of women."
