On March 13, 2004 Haaretz reported, "Surveys conducted a few months ago show that the rate of support for Bush among the Arab community comes to only 38 percent and that he loses among this group to any Democratic candidate. Senator John Kerry, who last week outdistanced all other Democratic candidates in picking up electoral votes, has not yet been subjected to direct examination by surveys aimed at the Arab community in the U.S. but presumably he has one strong point - he's not George Bush. Otherwise he has no traits or positions that stand out as endearing to the Arab American community."
