On February 3, 2005 The New York Times reported, "after learning of years of sexual assaults on female cadets, [Air Force] officials began to study the culture and climate at the academy. Partly through anonymous surveys, the issue of religious tolerance - or lack of it - jumped out... The religious sensitivity training courses that will begin in February are called 'respecting the spiritual values of people,' or R.S.V.P. The goal is to create a culture of tolerance and respect in which students feel comfortable enough to go to officials to resolve their problems. Cadets who violate standards of tolerance can be disciplined, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense."
