The issue on establishment of an advisory council at UN was discussed during the meeting between the world’s religious figures and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The working groups to study the details of the council will be established in the near future. It was decided that the Muslim religion will be represented at the UN Advisory Council by the clerical leaders of Azerbaijan, Jordan and Iran, the Chairman of Caucasus Muslims’ Clerical Office Sheik-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said after the Moscow meeting.
“This is a high estimate reflecting strong trust and respect for Azerbaijan and for the religious tolerance policy pursued by the country’s government,” Pashazade said.
