On December 22, 2005 the Sikh News Network reported, "‘Meet The Sikhs’ is a short video produced by PBS (Public Broadcasting System). The video is an introduction to the Sikh community of Northern California. David Hosley, the producer of the video and General Manager of KVIE (the PBS station of the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto region), told SikhNN that it took a year to finish it. The video was the result of several things, says Hosley: 'My interest in reflecting the region back to its residents, including representing the histories of ethnic groups; lack of content available to public television stations about South Asian communities in California; and admiration for the educational efforts the Sikh community has made in the past few years'... Starting with an annual Sikh celebration, the video provides an overview of the Sikh community, including the foundation of its religious beliefs and attire, immigration patterns and the accomplishments of community members. 'The response has been positive from viewers,' says Hosley, 'and it has played a number of times and will continue to be broadcast between programs in 2006.'"
