The Hindu and Sikh communities celebrated ‘Holi’ — a festival of colours — to welcome spring here on Sunday.
A large number of Hindu and Sikh families were seen throwing colours on one another to celebrate the festival. All-Pakistan Hindu and Sikh Social Welfare Council Vice President Saroop Anand told ‘The News’ that they celebrated the festival to welcome the spring season.
Hindus and Sikhs had started gathering different colours a week ago to use them in the ‘Holi’ festival. They had decided to celebrate ‘Holi’ in their homes and temples and not in open places because of the prevailing law and order situation, he said.
