The Alliance was created following September 11, 2001 to foster understanding and good will between Jews, Christians and Muslims. Wright Salisbury, the Executive Director, lost his son-in-law, Ted Hennessy, Jr. of Belmont, MA on that day and devotes his full time energies to running The Alliance. The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Alliance holds interfaith meetings at churches, synagogues and mosques throughout eastern Massachusetts (10 in the last year), maintains their website, and hosts a literary, art and architecture webpage. The Alliance, with Peaceful Tomorrows, United for Peace and Justice and churches, synagogues and mosques in Massachusetts organized the Sept. 10, 2003 Interfaith Candlelight Vigil on the Boston Common. Presently, the Alliance is attempting to create an online database of interfaith and peace-advocacy organizations, people and events and a film to be called "The Children of Abraham."
