Hindu Heritage Fest Wins Good Response (Canada)

An estimated 2,500 people from across the area braved the rains last weekend to attend the Hindu Heritage Festival, held at Toronto's Black Creek Pioneer Village by the Hindu Federation.

The festival, which drew together congregations from temples located across the GTA, celebrated Hindu culture inside Canada and provided a perspective on how the first members of the community experienced life in Canada, said Pandit Roopnauth Sharma, president.

It also highlighted how Hindus practice and maintain their beliefs- even more so today, as their presence grows within the Canadian mosaic, he added.
