For thirty years, we have studied the development of new forms of interfaith encounter. The events of 9/11 demonstrated the importance of interfaith groups; since then, we have witnessed the growth of hundreds of new interfaith initiatives. The “interfaith infrastructure” is emerging in real-time, providing an innovative context for the kind of engagement we describe as “pluralism.”
