The 2nd Annual Black Religion, Spirituality, & Culture Conference will take place March 22-23, 2018 at Harvard Divinity School!
Our Conference seeks to advance the exploration of Black religion, spirituality, and culture across the Diaspora. We look to interdisciplinary scholarship and engagement for training in ethical leadership to address the world’s most pressing issues. The Black Religion, Spirituality, and Culture Conference aims to (1) ask and explore questions of religion, spirituality, and culture from a Black perspective; (2) provide a gathering space for Black scholars, students, faith and civic leaders; (3) nurture interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative scholarship; and (4) explore linkages between scholarship and activism as transformative sites.
This year’s panel topics include:
-Black Religion and Social Activism
-Religion, Sexuality, & Queerness
-Women in Black Religious Leadership
-Black Religion & Wellness
-Faith & Incarceration
-Power in the Black Religious Space

The theme of this year’s conference is Activism and Community in Scholarship. The panels seek to engage a range of speakers who will contribute to the conversation on the following topics: Black Religion & Activism; Black Religion & Culture; Faith & Incarceration; Religion, Sexuality & Queerness; Women in Black Religious Leadership; Religion & Wellness; Power in the Black Religious Space; and Navigating Identity. Proposals should be limited to 300 words. If you are interested in presenting in the 2nd Annual Black Religion, Spirituality, and Culture Conference, email your proposal and CV/Resume to email@example.com. Proposals are due on February 20th.
