Religious Diversity in Southern Mississippi: More than Southern Baptists

 

Project Description

Almost every county in the state of Mississippi has more Southern Baptists than any other religious group (Newsweek, 2002). Despite the strong influence of the dominant religion in this part of the country, not everyone chooses to fulfill their spiritual needs in a Baptist Church.

I plan to document the wide variety of religious worship experiences in Southern Mississippi creating an archive of visual information about this area's diverse spiritual communities.
