Omar Haque was a student at Brown University when he documented the history of Islam in Rhode Island and profiled the evolving and diverse Islamic communities in the state, especially the ways in which they have changed, and are changed by, their new contexts. Omar worked in collaboration with student researchers involved in the Brown University Multifaith Council. He also worked with Gregory McGonigle, a student researcher from Harvard Divinity School studying the religious diversity of Rhode Island.
